With a run of recent postponements Dunipace found themselves playing in the West of Scotland cup for the second game running, welcoming the visit of Superleague Premier side Neilston to Westfield Park.
Despite a winning result and impressive performance in the previous fixture against Lesmahagow, their were 3 changes to the starting lineup with Cairney, Cullen and Strachan all recalled.
The game started brightly, with both sides enjoying impressive spells of possession but without managing to create anything in the way of clear cut chances, neither keeper being called upon.
As the half wore on the visitors started finding a way through the stubborn Dunipace rearguard, but despite a few half chances failed to capitalise on a good spell and it was Dunipace who were to come closest
so far. Micheal Cullen getting his head on an O'Brien corner to head just over from 8 yards.
It was unfortunately though not to be for the home side and Neilston took the lead just after the half hour. A free kick conceded in a wide area was delivered to the back post where the visiting forward had
lost his marker to head beyond Strachan into the corner.

It was perhaps more than the visitors deserved at this stage, with both teams being pretty evenly matched but as is the story with football matches it's all about taking your chances.
The second half saw Dunipace start at a very high tempo as they tried to force an equaliser, with the tireless Rodger working extremely hard to put pressure on the visiting defenders at every opportunity.
Again though, despite a good spell of pressure, the home side could not fashion any clear cut chances and it was nearly the visitors who extended their lead from a home corner.
The breakaway, involving 4 players, looked to be ending in a goal following a terrific ball in from the left untill MacMillan, chasing back from the corner himself, through himself at the ball to turn clear.
The visitors however did extend their lead moments later, Dunipace guilty of giving the ball away in the middle of the field and another ball into the box, this time from the right, was headed home by the visiting
attacker who had lost his marker.
Despite the result Dunipace can be content that there was not much between the sides, separated by 3 divisions at present and only a couple of defensive lapses decided the game.
And with league duty on the horizon once again in the shape of Carluke in a weeks time, Dunipace will have to take all the positives and look to get their league season back on track.
