Central League: Second Division

Dunipace  Dunipace 0 - 4 Shettleston  Shettleston

Following last weeks defeat at the hands of fellow division 2 hopefuls Blantyre, Dunipace hoped to bounce back with this game at Westfield as they welcomed Shettleston for this first time in several seasons.

Manager Derek Barron was forced into a couple of changes from the side that faced Blantyre thanks to an ever growing injury list at Westfield that currently has no fewer than 7 players unavailable through a variety of injuries, on top of those out with work commitments.

And things were not to go well for the hosts, who again failed to find any sort of form that they showed in the opening weeks of the season and quickly found themselves a goal down from a corner.

This was to be followed by a second and third goal from the visitors in a first half that was catstrophic for the home side.

At the half manager Derek Barron made two changes and tweaked the sides formation in order to try and salvage something from the game, but unfortunately it was not to be with clear chances few and far between.

And it was clear that it was going to be one of those days for the Dunipace manager when Substitute Alan Moffat, one of those thrown on at half time to effect change in teh game, had to be replaced himself after only half an hour after pulling a muscle.

The visitors killed the game off by adding a fourth, with Dunipace never looking like getting on the scoresheet in a game that looked beyond them from very early on.

A better performance required as Dunipace look away from league matters and a home tie in the West of Scotland v Lesmahagow next weekend.
